Cardwells Christmas Trip
Christmas for me is really about children, creating the magic, the excitement the build up. It is a precious thing to watch a child with gleaming eyes and bright smiles receive their gift from Santa with the promise of more gifts to come if they are a good boy or girl.
Every year we put on a few children’s Christmas Trips these are my favourite of the year to organise and participate in. This year we added a new one, A Cardwells Christmas day, and it did not disappoint.
Cold weather – check
Excited elf’s to meet the kids– check
Christmas Carols on the coach – check
Salvation Army, Candyfloss, Cinnamon sticks, Fairground rides – Check, check, check and check.
Not forgetting the big man himself. Now let’s be honest( between us adults) we have all seen a few dodgy imitations in our time but this guy, well I’m sure I myself started to believe him a little, great job Santa!
The full place was full of magic with cheery staff, mulled wine and shortbread a plenty. Hot soup and sandwiches refuelled the kids as they squealed with joy on the tea cups and other carnival rides. With craft time and face painting it was a jam packed day that certainly made all involved feel all fuzzy and festive.
Sleepy children and a few adults as well had a wee snooze on the coach home, with that lovely Christmas feeling knowing that Santa would soon be here.
It is only a few special years that your children and grandchildren will feel the true magic of Christmas so I know that I for one will make the most of these precious years.
