Join us as we journey to the Scottish Borders, its 1566 , in the footsteps of Mary Queen of Scots!
First to Traquair House, Scotland’s oldest inhabited house, where Mary Queen of Scots stayed during 1566, you can see the room she stayed in, her bed and the cradle her 3 month old son James, the future King Of Scotland (& England) slept in, her rosary, crucifix and a copy of the execution warrant signed by Queen Elizabeth the 1st to behead Mary. Enjoy the stunning gardens and marvel at the maze then onto the Garden Cafe for a light lunch of soup, sandwiches and tea or coffee (included)
Next, onto Mary Queen Of Scots house in Jeburgh where you can view paintings the Rogues Gallery and the Last Letter Room, giving real insight to her thoughts just before her execution, then view a death mask of Mary aged just 44 when she was beheaded.
